Italy rebounded swiftly from their first loss in the Volleyball Nations League (VNL) 2024 by defeating the United States 3-0 in Ottawa, Canada. Less than 24 hours after their defeat to France, the Italians secured a decisive victory with set scores of 25-25, 26-24, and 25-20.
This victory brought Italy closer to qualifying for the Paris Olympics. Daniele Lavia led the Italian offense with 15 points, including 12 kills and three aces. Alessandro Michieletto and Gianluca Galassi also contributed significantly, each scoring ten points. For the USA, Torey Defalco and Max Holt were the top scorers, each with eight points.
