Milano came out firing in their debut, sweeping Gerdau Minas 3-0 (25-17, 25-22, 27-25). Paola Egonu led the charge with 18 points, proving once again why she’s one of the best in the game. Despite a spirited comeback attempt from Minas in the second set, Milano held their nerve, with Danesi and Egonu sealing the deal.
Conegliano followed suit with a flawless 3-0 victory (25-20, 25-15, 25-15) over Dentil Praia. Zhu Ting, a home-crowd favorite, shone alongside teammates Gabi and Fahr, who all chipped in 12 points. Conegliano’s blocking game was unstoppable, leaving Praia with no answers.
