The stage is set for the 2025 FIVB Women’s Volleyball World Championship after Drawing of Lots in Bangkok. The tournament, featuring 32 of the world’s best teams, will take place in Thailand from August 22 to September 7, with matches in Bangkok, Phuket, Chiang Mai, and Nakhon Ratchasima.
Here’s how the teams stack up in the eight groups:
- Pool A: Thailand, Netherlands, Sweden, Egypt (Bangkok)
- Pool B: Italy, Belgium, Cuba, Slovakia (Phuket)
- Pool C: Brazil, Puerto Rico, France, Greece (Chiang Mai)
- Pool D: USA, Czechia, Argentina, Slovenia (Nakhon Ratchasima)
- Pool E: Türkiye, Canada, Bulgaria, Spain (Nakhon Ratchasima)
- Pool F: China, Dominican Republic, Colombia, Mexico (Chiang Mai)
- Pool G: Poland, Germany, Kenya, Vietnam (Phuket)
- Pool H: Japan, Serbia, Ukraine, Cameroon (Bangkok)
The top two teams from each group will move on to the knockout rounds, beginning with the Round of 16 in Bangkok.
This year’s edition marks a major shift for the World Championship. The tournament will now happen every two years and has expanded to include 32 teams, making it bigger and more competitive than ever. Volleyball fans can expect an action-packed few weeks next summer!
