In Belgrade, Poland shrugged off the absence of captain Korneluk to down the USA 3-1. Martyna Lukasik was sensational, dropping six aces and a match-high 26 points to power her team into third place in the standings. The U.S. started strong, but couldn’t keep up with Poland’s serving storm.
In Istanbul, Turkiye extended their unbeaten streak with a clean sweep over Canada. Melissa Vargas dominated with 21 points, including four aces, as her team cruised to 6-0.
Over in Hong Kong, fans were treated to a five-set classic. China fought off a Bulgarian match point and rallied for a thrilling 3-2 win, thanks to 32 points from Wu Mengjie and a clutch effort from 16-year-old setter Zhang Zixuan.
Also in Istanbul, the Dominican Republic rolled past Belgium in straight sets, led by Brayelin Martinez’s 18-point outing. Meanwhile, Germany outplayed Serbia 3-1 in Belgrade, handing the home side another tough loss.
