Ukraine Edges Japan in 5-Set Epic
Capping off the day, VNL newcomers Ukraine stunned Japan in a wild five-setter 3-2 (24-26, 25-17, 25-18, 22-25, 15-13). Illia Kovalov powered the historic win with 21 points, vaulting Ukraine to fourth in the standings—just ahead of Japan.
