WL 2017: Serbia celebrated big victory over USA

Last year's winners of World League have celebrated the first victory in Group 1 against USA.

Team of coach Nikola Grbic celebrated the big victory in front of 6300 spectators in Novi Sad after 111 minutes. They have finished match against USA 3-1 (25-18, 23-25, 25-20, 25-21).

Marko Ivović led Serbia with 17 points followed by Uroš Kovačević 15 and Aleksandar Atanasijević 11 points while USA played in the changed roster and Taylor Sander was the top scorer with 13 points.

In the secodn match in Pool B Canada outplayed Belgium 3-2 (25-22, 19-25, 26-24, 23-25, 15-13) after 137 minutes.

Captain John Gordon Perrin scored 21 points while Bram Van Den Dries finished match with 26 points for Belgium.

This was Serbia’s ninth win in the 14 head-to-head clashes with USA in the history of the World League.
