Bulgaria are the team that could make a profit out of this result in Poland. Of course, there is a chance for USA also, if Argentina defeat Bulgaria…
Anyway, the crowd at fully packed Atlas Arena had an opportunity to watch an amazing first set. USA had five set points, but Poland won it by 31-29 after all. In the second set, USA managed to tie the score (25-17), which made Polish fans very nervous about the game result.
The USA caused a shock at the arena by winning the third set, after making a turnaround 27-25!
A good display in the third set gave the USA a confidence boost to start the fourth set in a good way. They had four-point lead 8-4 and were controlling the game until the middle of the set. In that moment, Kubiak stole the show, winning some incredible points and scoring an ace to tie the score 15:15.
After the second TTO, USA’s block completed a good job, scoring two points for three-point lead 18-15. Credits also go to Micah Christenson serving performance.
Taylor Sander’s two aces crushed all hopes of Poland as the USA got a huge lead in that moment, 21-16. Ferdinando De Giorgi tried with some substitutions, but it didn’t work.
