In the opener of a Day 2 in the 2017 FIVB Men’s Volleyball World Grand Champions Cup in Japan, the Italian National Team recovered from a demolition which they suffered in the first set to down Brazil in five, 3-2 (15-25, 27-25, 27-25, 18-25, 15-12).
The opposite Luca Vettori paved Italy’s way to victory with 27 points (4 kill blocks), making three points in a row in the tie-break at 9-10 which totally extinguished Brazil’s hopes of victory in Nagoya. In Brazil, Wallace de Souza notched 19 points (4 kill blocks).
Now, both the „Azzurri“ and Brazil have a 1-1 record but the South American side has one point more compared to the rivals (4 pts. – 3 pts.).
