The nine-time French champions, who returned to the Ligue A Masculine after a year, have improved their position in the charts by four places after sweeping Narbonne at home in Round 8 of the 2019/20 regular season: 3-0 (27- 25, 25-22, 25-23). Paris moved from the ninth to fifth place on the table (4-4; 13 points) but which is even more important, they recorded the third successive win. The Dutchman Robin Overbeeke top-scored for the team from the French capital with 12 points. Cuban Yordan Bisset poured in 21 points for Narbonne.
Rennes retained their leading position in the standings by prevailing over Poitiers by a 3-1 (30-28, 25-23, 22-25, 25-23). Brazilian Rafael Araújo chipped in with 29 points for the winning side, while Moroccan Zouheir El Graoui scored 20 points for Poitiers.
Montpellier and Tourcoing beat Nice and Nantes Rezé, respectively, to line up behind Rennes in the charts.
