Fourteen players accompanied by the coaching staff traveled on Saturday morning by train to Rotterdam to spend three days in the Netherlands. Two friendly matches with the “Oranjes” are scheduled for Sunday, December 29, and Monday, December 30 at the “Maaspoort Sports en Events” complex in ‘s-Hertogenbosch.
“We started our camp ten days ago and there was a break of 48 hours so that the players could celebrate Christmas with their family” head coach Laurent Tillie says. “The players are responding well and look in good shape. The friendly matches coming up in the Netherlands will tell us more about where we stand. Our goal is to win both matches and find a good rhythm. We are about to play an opponent that is also preparing for the World Champs qualifier and for this event they have called back some of their most experienced players” Tillie continues.
Back from the Netherlands, the “Bleus” will spend another few days all together at the Carpentier hall waiting for the tournament to start on January 3. The names of the 12 players retained for this competition will be announced only on January 2, i.e. on the eve of the first competition day.
France will play Belarus, Spain, and Belgium through January 3rd-5th.
