by WoV

PARIS Volley downed Germany’s sensation TV Ingersoll BÜHL in straight sets (25-23, 25-14, and 25-22) to get the right edge in the Challenge Round of the 2014 CEV Volleyball Cup – Men waiting now for the return game coming up next week in Germany. TV Ingersoll started out strong leading the way at the first and second technical time-out (8:6, 16:14) of the opening set anchored by their US American wing-spiker Joseph Sunder, a former student at Penn State University. However, the hosts of PARIS Volley did not lose composure and in the end claimed the first set (25-23) on an ace by Jeroen Trommel and a block by Marko Ivovic who stopped the most prolific player of TV Ingersoll in this game, opposite Marvin Prolingheuer.

“I am not very happy with the match we played tonight” said TV Ingersoll head coach Ruben Wolochin. “The first set was very open but we ended up losing it. However, I know we can perform much better than we have done tonight and I am confident that we can win the return game next week in Germany.”

“We played a very solid game and I think it was very good that we could control our emotions especially during that close first set” commented PARIS Volley head coach Dorian Rougeyron. “We know next week we will have to take on a difficult game because they always perform strong at home. We have to win another two sets to make the semis and it won’t be that easy.”
