The final pitted the reigning French champions, Saint-Nazaire, against Montpellier, the runners-up in the French Cup, who replaced Nantes-Rezé after their financial struggles. Montpellier’s victory marks their second Supercup triumph.

Despite Saint-Nazaire’s best efforts, including a remarkable comeback in the second and third sets, Montpellier rallied in the fourth set and maintained their composure in the tie-break to secure the win on their first match point.
