Saint-Raphael
For the first time since 1997, another club besides Cannes registered their name among winners of the French Championship. After a notable performance, Saint-Raphaël took gold medal.
It was a true feat as, a few weeks ago, they were not title candidates, entering playoffs as seventh-seeded. Even more, last season, Saint-Raphaël survived in the French top division only after two teams, who avoided relegation, have canceled participation. Cannes will have to settle with winning the national Cup.
Belgian Liesbet Vindevoghel was the best scorer of Saint-Raphaël with 19 points. Serbian Sanja Bursać had 26 in Cannes.
