Upon being established as head coach of Italy, in August 2015, Blengini pardoned two of four players punished by previous expert Mauro Berruto – Zaytsev and Sabbi – but did not do the same with Randazzo and Travica. Even after almost a year, both are still away from the National Team.
Blengini’s list:
Setters: Simone Giannelli, Daniele Sottile and Riccardo Sbertoli.
Middle blockers: Enrico Cester, Davide Candellaro, Emanuele Birarelli, Simone Buti, Matteo Piano and Simone Anzani.
Receivers: Osmany Juantorena, Filippo Lanza, Oleg Antonov, Michele Fedrizzi, Iacopo Botto and Gabriele Maruotti.
Opposites: Ivan Zaytsev, Luca Vettori, Gabriele Nelli and Giulio Sabbi.
Liberos: Massimo Colaci and Salvatore Rossini.
