Ajaccio needed only three sets to break the resistance of Nantes Rezé Métropole in the gold medal encounter of Coupe de France, repeating last season’s success, 25-23, 25-20, 25-18.
Frédéric Fernandez’s wards had full control over the match thanks to the experience of the last year’s final, booking their ticket for the second ranked club competition under the European Volleyball Confederation – CEV Cup in 2017/2018. Ajaccio still compete in this season’s edition of the same tournament and will play rematch with the Turkish Fenerbahçe İstanbul in the quarter-finals (first leg 0-3), next Wednesday.
Winning 2017 French Cup was the second trophy in this competition for Ajaccio overall.
