“Why I can’t play in the German national team. I just don’t understand. It’s an old, sad story, because I just love to play volleyball, it’s my life. I’m grateful to Cuba, because that’s a place I learned to play volleyball. My parents are Cubans, in my veins flows the Cuban blood, my emotions are Cuban but I never had the chance to play in the national team of Cuba. I played once as a kid in school sports but never in Cuban jersey, even in the youth national team. Probably I was not good enough to deserve the call for Cuban national team,” says Salvador Hidalgo.
