Just like every year since 2007, and on the initiative of “L’Équipe”, a jury which consist of journalists and coaches of LAM awards the Most Valuable Player of the Regular Season.
The 2017 MVP may come as a surprise, since it is a setter, but only to those who do not closely follow French Championship. A 29-year-old Italian Davide Saitta was voted the best player of the Regular Season.
He is one of the most deserving, if not the most deserving, player for enormous success of Montpellier Volley UC this season so far. They claimed No.2 (18-4) and, of course, entered playoffs where they will face seventh seed Nice Volley-Ball.
