After playing an exhausting 2018 CEV Champions League – Playoffs 12 encounter with Diatec Trentino, three days ago, Chaumont players were unable to show their maximum against tonight, which does not diminish the win of the underdogs Nice, 3-2 (26-24, 25-17, 21-25, 18-25, 15-13).

Nice were led by Ukrainian Vasyl Tupchii, who scored 18 points. The Bulgarian Ivan Kolev, Slovenian Danijel Koncilja, and Pole Dawid Woch made 4 kill blocks apiece. In Chaumont, Italian Francesco De Marchi scored 14 points. Kévin Rodriguez made 75% attack (9/12, blocked once), while Jonas Aguenier recorded 4 kill blocks.

With this win, Nice kept theoretical chances for the playoffs, while Chaumont reduced their chances to earn No.1.
