Schwerin, who were the leaders in the charts of the 2019/20 German Championship regular season prior to the cancelation of the competition due to coronavirus pandemic parted ways with two starters: the opposite hitter and also the country’s national team member Kimberley Drewniok and American outside hitter McKenzie Adams. Rumors say that both will move to Italy – Drewniok in Savino Del Bene Scandicci and Adams in Imoco Volley Conegliano.
Schwerin renewed with a duo of middle blockers: American Lauren Barfield, who will play her fifth successive season in the club, and Marie Schölzel. In addition, Schwerin hired outside hitter Lina Alsmeier (USC Münster).
