The German Volleyball Association (DVV) won’t send its women’s U19 national team to the continental championship for safety reasons.

The Germany U19 women’s National Team won’t participate in the CEV European Championship, that’s to be held in Croatia and Bosnia and Herzegovina on August 22-30, due to the coronavirus situation.

The DVV made such a decision after consultation with the embassies in the countries that will host the tournament, the country’s Foreign Office, and the players’ parents. The governing body of German volleyball didn’t want to take the risk although there are existing hygiene procedures, considering that the safety protocol for the participants couldn’t be guaranteed 100 %.
