Italian expert Giani, whose contract with DVV on commanding the men’s national team expired in 2020, has decided to extend it and lead Germany in the 2021 FIVB Volleyball Nations League and the 2021 CEV European Championship. The DVV Sports Director Christian Dünnes stressed after the contract extension with Giani that the two sides will sit down again at the end of the year, evaluate the performance, and decide whether they want to continue on the path together.
Giani has been coaching Germany Men since 2017, and in his first year at the helm, he helped the national team win the first-ever medal at a European Championship – the silver medal.
