Hippe fell down on a court in match against Koepenicker, holding for the knee with a painful look on her face. And, medical exams brought terrible news. Star of SC Schweriner ruptured ACL, and the season is over for her. This is the first time she talks about that game and injury:

I knew it immediately it was bad. While I was lying on the floor with severe pain, I just couldn’t move my leg. It was clear for me in that moment that season is over.”

Hippe describes period after the injury:

It was really difficult at the beginning, I couldn’t think about anything else than the injury… It was a pure stress, because I have never experience this kind of setback as a player.  But, I am back in positive mood. I’m making progress with his knee. That’s the important thing. I can already move without crutches have a good feeling about the healing process.” – said Saskia for german website ssc-vb.de and added: “I am almost for the whole day on therapies. I thought that at least I will be able to have more free time, but that is not the case.”

German player talks about who gives her biggest support in this difficult period:

Those are my parents, sister and friends. They are always there for me. We are joking that now I am finally at home for some time, but it really could have happened in different circumstances.”

For the end, Hippe says that she is in every day contact with her teammates from SC Schweriner:

Someone always calls. We are a real WhatsApp group. And I am happy that the team found its way and plays good without me.”
