The game in Dresden was a big promotion for volleyball – 1200 spectators at the Margon Arena experienced a superb, exciting and emotional clash between Dresdner SC and Allianz MTV Stuttgart. In the end, in the replay of the championship final last season, the defending champion Dresdner SC had to admit a 2-3 defeat (18-25, 25-17, 25-20, 22-25, 12-15) from last year’s second-placed Allianz MTV Stuttgart.
This was a pre-played match of the 11th round of the Bundesliga. Maja Storck of Dresdner SC with 29 points was the top scorer of the match and Julia Wesser added 18 points. Krystal Rivers was the top scorer for Allianz MTV Stuttgart with 23 points, while Jasper Hester added 19.
