Just 48 hours following their bitter cup defeat, the Dresdner SC made a remarkable comeback. In a fiercely contested East Derby against SC Potsdam, Dresden emerged victorious with a 3-2 win (24-26, 25-17, 25-19, 24-26, 15-11).

In another encounter of the day, Rote Raben Vilsbiburg secured a three-set win in their last home game before Christmas. Just two days after their cup semifinal loss to SC Potsdam, they started the Bundesliga second half strongly, beating VC Neuwied 77 with a straight 3-0 (25-12, 25-12, 25-14) victory.

VC Wiesbaden and Allianz MTV Stuttgart faced off in a tense battle. The German champions, Stuttgart, eventually prevailed 3-1 (25-12, 25-20, 24-26, 25-15) after 101 minutes.
