The German Volleyball Association appointed Giulio Bregoli as the new head coach of the women’s national team. The 50-year-old Italian, who currently leads Reale Mutua Fenera Chieri ’76 in Italy’s top league, signed a contract extending until 2028.
Bregoli brings a wealth of experience, having previously coached teams to championships in France and Italy. Internationally, he served as assistant coach for the Italian national team, contributing to their 2021 European Championship win and medal successes at the 2018 and 2022 World Championships. Earlier this year, he led Sweden to victory in the Golden League.
“I am very proud to become the head coach in Germany,” said Bregoli. “It’s a fantastic opportunity to work with great players.”
Bregoli succeeds Alexander Waibl, who temporarily led the team after Vital Heynen’s departure.
