The BR Volleys have punched their ticket to the semifinals of the German Bundesliga after a dramatic 3-2 win over Netzhoppers KW (25:12, 19:25, 20:25, 25:13, 15:10). In a packed Paul-Dinter-Halle, Berlin survived a rollercoaster five-set match to take the quarterfinal series.
Jake Hanes was on fire for BR Volleys, racking up a match-high 32 points with a solid 57% attack rate, 3 blocks, and an incredible 8 aces. Tobias Krick also had a strong showing, adding 16 points. On the other side, Theo Timmermann led the way for the home team, putting up 20 points in a solid effort. After a dominant first set, the BR Volleys lost momentum and dropped the next two, but bounced back strong to force a tiebreak—and finish the job.
Now, the BR Volleys face the Helios Grizzlys Giesen in a best-of-five semifinal series.
