VfB Suhl LOTTO Thüringen has announced the immediate termination of its contract with player Leandra Rixa Negri, following open and trusting discussions between the athlete, the club’s sporting management, and executive board. Both parties agreed to end the partnership amicably and by mutual consent.
In a statement, the club described the conclusion as the end of a collaborative and respectful chapter marked by dedication and a shared focus on development. Despite dealing with recurring minor injuries that occasionally interrupted her progress, Negri was recognized for her professionalism, team mentality, and strong potential both in training and competition.
Managing Director Alexander Mantlik expressed his disappointment at the decision but also his appreciation for Negri’s efforts:
“We deeply regret the contract termination with Leandra Rixa Negri. Sportingly, we are losing one of the greatest young German talents. Even though recurring minor injuries limited her ability to fully showcase her skills, her commitment and performance in both training and matches clearly demonstrated her enormous potential. We would have liked to continue working with her and see her take on an important role in our sporting future. While this separation is painful, we respect her decision and wish her only the best for her future, both professionally and personally.”
Negri also shared heartfelt words as she reflected on her time with the club:
“Right now, I feel deep gratitude. I had the feeling that I couldn’t give the club what it deserves at this moment, and that we would both be happier if we went separate ways. That’s why we agreed to end the contract by mutual consent. I’m thankful for every experience and for all the people connected to this club. Thank you very much! I’m looking forward to continuing my journey—with all the lessons, emotions, and dreams that lie ahead.”
