Head coach Alexander Waibl praised his team’s grit after the 128-minute battle: “I’m so happy about this win. We struggled at times, but the girls fought incredibly. Even the players who came in brought great energy — and Marta was just amazing.”

And amazing she was — Marta Levinska led Dresden with 26 points, earning the MVP award. Teammates Miku Akimoto (14), Jette Kuipers (13), and Mette Pfeffer (10) also hit double digits.

After losing the second and third sets, Dresden refused to quit. Backed by their loud home crowd, they turned the game around with strong serves, tight defense, and unstoppable attacks. In the final tiebreak, Levinska dominated once again, and Pfeffer’s final block sealed the emotional victory.

Meanwhile, in the NRW derby, Aachen beat USC Münster 3:1 (25:22, 25:20, 21:25, 25:22) in another thrilling match. MVP honor went to Celine Jebens from Aachen.
