BR Volleys have qualified for the 2016/17 CEV Champions League Playoffs 6 stage after eliminating Istanbul BBSK in a thrilling clash. Recall that the Turkish side won the 1st leg by 3-2, while they were up by 2-0 in sets in the rematch!
However, that’s when it started.
BR Volleys started playing some fantastic volleyball. The German powerhouse firstly seized the 3rd set – 25:13, then they leveled the score by winning the 4th set – 25:14, while they finally clinched the tie-break after a dramatic ending – 16:14.
In that moment it was clear that the golden set would decide which side would progress to the next stage. And, by having their confidence at the maximum level, BR Volleys prevailed over Istanbul BBSk in the golden set by 15:11 and advanced to the CEV Champions League Playoffs 6 stage.
The top scorers in the home team were Robert Kromm with 20 points and Paul Carroll with 19 points.
On the other side, Antonin Rouzier made 22 points for the visitors.
