In a five-set battle filled with momentum shifts, Panionios defeated Olympiacos 3–2, showing character and composure when it mattered most. Despite trailing 2–1 in sets, they responded with renewed focus, tightening up defensively and dominating key moments at the net to push the match into a decisive fifth set. There, Panionios held their nerve. Strong teamwork and timely blocks allowed them to complete the comeback and secure the first volleyball trophy in the club’s history.
Led by head coach Dragan Nešić, the team’s victory also carries wider significance. It marks Panionios’ first major title in any sport since 2005, when the club last tasted success with the women’s basketball championship.
