VINTAGE VOLLEYBALL: The biggest birthday party ever held in Piraeus (VIDEO)

On March 10, 1996, Sports Club Olympiacos celebrated its 71st birthday, while the party held in Piraues will forever stay in memory of every red & white fan.

On very that day Olympiacos played their first European Finals. The Greek powerhouse hosted the German team Bayer Wupertal in the 1996 CEV Cup Finals, while the Peace and Friendship Hall in Piraeus was fully packed.

Volleyball world witnessed one of the best atmospheres ever made in the CEV Cup, while Olympiacos and their fans got the best possible birthday present – The CEV Cup trophy!  

1996 CEV Cup Finals:

Olympiacos Piraeus – Bayer Wupertal 3:2 (15:9, 13:15, 157, 12:15, 12:12)
