Lube-vs-Perugia
In a duel of the champions Lube and runners-up Perugia, the crown carrier prevailed at home at the packed Eurosole Forum (3,980 spectators) by a 3-1 (28-26, 25-20, 24-26, 25-22). The match was valid for Round 11 of the 2019/20 SuperLega Credem Banca regular season, while the other today’s duels were part of Round 4. The reason for this is Lube’s participation at the 2019 FIVB Club World Championship in Brazil at the time when Round 11 is scheduled.
With the win in a derby of all Italian derbies, Lube remained undefeated (5-0) and took over the lead in the charts. Brazil National Team member Yoandy Leal top-scored for Lube with 20 points, while Iranian Amir Ghafour stepped in the line-up instead of Luxembourgian Rychlicki and made 72% attack (13/18). Another player of the “Seleção“, Bruno Rezende, stood out as he served 4 aces. Cuban Robertlandy Simón made 4 kill blocks. As for Perugia, who already suffered their second loss of the season, Poland National Team member Wilfredo León put down 24 points.

This is a very impressive start for Lube. They still serve and block very well……Perugia not so much.
Perugia is in trouble this year with a record of 10-10 in sets and currently in 5th place. Most every team is improved this year and having to rely on Leon to separate games for you is not the answer Perugia can rely on in this league.
