After a 3-1 defeat against Bosca San Bernardo Cuneo in Round 12 of the 2019/20 Lega Pallavolo Serie A Femminile regular season, the management of Golden Tulip VolAlto 2.0 Caserta decided to terminate contracts with as many as 5 players! It’s such a radical move that can’t be seen often in professional volleyball. The players that paid the price of Caserta’s poor results (2-10; penultimate place in the charts) this season are the captain Marta Bechis, Puerto Rican Áurea Cruz, American Rhamat Alhassan, Canadian Alexa Gray, and Austrian Katharina Holzer. They will be replaced with players from the “B” team that competes in the fifth division (Serie C).
Imoco Volley Conegliano justified the role of the favorite against the home side of Il Bisonte Firenze: 3-0 (25-21, 25-16, 25-23). Paola Egonu top-scored for the world champions with 17 points, while Chiaka Ogbogu made 5 kill blocks. The Dutch Nika Daalderop scored 15 points for the losing side.
The vice-leaders Unet E-Work Busto Arsizio recorded the 8th successive triumph (10th including the CEV Cup), while fourth-placed Savino Del Bene Scandicci were confident against Banca Valsabbina Millenium Brescia.
