FRA M: Laurent Tillie summons 17 players to prepare for Olympic Qualifiers, Rossard out

Laurent Tillie, the head coach of France Men’s Volleyball National Team, has announced the preliminary list of players for the European Qualifier for the Olympic Games in Tokyo.

Tillie has summoned 17 players who will prepare for the continental Olympic qualifying tournament scheduled on January 5-10 in Berlin, Germany. Out of these 17 players, as many as 13 competed at the recent CEV EuroVolley. Only Thibault Rossard is missing due to edema in his left foot. Tillie will have to choose a 14-man list for the qualifications at the end of the preparations in Tours, on January 3. France will play Pool B and will face European champion Serbia, Bulgaria, and the Netherlands.

Setters: Benjamin Toniutti (Zaksa/Poland, captain), Antoine Brizard (Warszawa/ Poland),

Outside hitters: Kévin Tillie (Warszawa/ Poland), Julien Lyneel (Jastrzębski/ Poland), Earvin Ngapeth (Zenit-Kazan/Russia), Trévor Clévenot (Milano/Italy), Yacine Louati (Monza/Italy), Timothée Carle (Vibo/Italy),

Opposite hitters: Jean Patry (Latina/Italy), Stéphen Boyer (Verona/Italy), Julien Winkelmuller (Chaumont), Jhon Wendt (ASK/Russia),

Middle blockers: Kévin Le Roux (Beijing/China), Nicolas Le Goff (Berlin/Germany), Barthélémy Chinenyeze (Vibo/Italy), Daryl Bultor (Sète),

Libero: Jénia Grebennikov (Trentino/Italy).
