The 2nd-seed Cucine Lube Civitanova closed the playoff final series of the 2020/21 Italian Men’s SuperLega Credem Banca against regular-season winners Sir Safety Conad Perugia with a 3-1. Thus, they won Scudetto for the 6th time in their history, also the 2nd consecutive time.
Unlike the previous game, ‘The Block Devils’ fought hard in Game 4, recovering from huge deficits several times but ultimately succumbed in 4 sets – partially, it was 25-20, 25-22, 21-25, and 25-21. Cuban-Italian Osmany Juantorena top-scored Lube with 19 points tonight and was named MVP of the playoff finals but, during the award ceremony, he decided to hand over the prize to his teammate, Cuban-Brazilian Yoandy Leal.
