Lube, with a national Championship and a Super Cup as goals already put on the notice board, is forced to start with a very small group of players because many athletes on the roster are engaged in preparations for the European Championship in September with the relevant national teams: Parodi, Zaytsev and Kovar with Italy, Kurek with Poland, and finally Podraščanin and Stanković with Serbia.
These players will arrive in Macerata after the conclusion of the continental tournament which will staged in Poland and Denmark until September 29.
Officially available to work with the coach Alberto Giuliani are members of the “red and white” staff, Francesco Cadeddu (2nd coach), Massimo Merazzi (fitness coach) and Alfredo Martilotti (technical assistant) along with six players.
These are: setters Michele Baranowicz and Natale Monopoli, the middle blocker Stefano Patriarca, the opposite Leondino Giombini, spiker-receiver Davidson Lampariello and libero Hubert Henno. Two more players will be added soon: young Marco Vitelli, 17-year-old middle blocker and Italian champion with Cucine Lube Banca Marche “Under 19” team and libero Alessandro Paparoni, player owned by Lube, back from an excellent season in A1 League with New Mater BCC-NEP Castellana Grotte.
It should be emphasized, that in mid-week, the “red and white” squad should welcome always loved Croatian opposite Igor Omrčen (five seasons wearing Lube jersey), captain of Cucine Lube Banca Marche, champion of Italy 2012. The opposite will train in the Fontescodella ten days to turn on the engines for his second consecutive season in the Japanese league, where he will once again star in the jersey of the JT Thunders Hiroshima.
