Ravenna confirmed it was on the way up with a 3-1 victory (25-11, 25-19, 23-25, 25-22) against Modena away from home. Bonitta was without Ricci and sent Toniutti on. The latter organized the Ravenna game at will during the first two sets dominated by the guests. Tillie took where he had left off against Verona, while Cester had five blocks all together. Modena took a much tighter third set and sprinted off to a 8-3 lead, but Ravenna found a 13-7 spurt to go in front and clinch the game.

“Even if Modena played without its starting spikers, I think my played played at an excellent level – said coach Bonitta – And indeed, we won the first two sets rather easily. We made some mistakes in the third but even with a totally modified line-up, the team handled things pretty well in the fourth”.
