Italian was the happy one after the match as his Piacenza advanced into the finals of Italian Cup.
“Despite the injury problems of Trentino, we approached this match very seriously. We managed to stay focused for the whole time, use our break chances and seize the big win” said Vettori who collected 20 points in this match.
On the other side, Sokolov played after a month of pause and immediately showed class. Bulgarian was the best scorer of the match with 22 points, but it was in vain.
“We had too many ups and downs, and made a lot of mistakes which cost us at least the fifth set” stated Sokolov’s teammate Sebastian Sole.
It is also worth mentioning that coach of Piacenza kept Hristo Zlatanov on the bench for the whole game. He hasn’t fully recovered yet, but there are chances that he will play in Sunday’s finals.
