In Bologna, in front of the maximum allowed 5,000 spectators, Sir Safety Conad Perugia returned to win the Del Monte® Coppa Italia SuperLega after 2 lost finals in a row. The final of the 2022 edition of the competition with Itas Trentino had two faces: the first two sets are dominated by the team commanded by Nikola Grbić. Then things changed, mostly thanks to substitutions made by the Trentino head coach Angelo Lorenzetti that paid off. In the 4th set, Perugia regained control but nearly squandered 3 match points.

Cuban-Polish Wilfredo León, awarded as MVP, scored 23 points (4 aces) for the ‘Block Devils’, who took their 3rd Italian Cup (2018, 2019, and 2022).

2022 Del Monte® Coppa Italia SuperLega – final:

Sir Safety Conad Perugia – Itas Trentino 3-1 (25-17, 25-17, 23-25, 25-23)
