ITA W: Novara Holds Top Spot, Conegliano Triumphs in Showdown Against Scandicci

Wednesday, November 1, witnessed the fifth round of the Serie A1 Championship, with Novara leading the table, followed by Conegliano and Milano. Scandicci trails, with Pinerolo and Firenze close behind. Busto and Trento are yet to gain momentum.

Il Bisonte Firenze triumphed in a nail-biting tie-break against Roma Volley Club. Led by coach Parisi, the standouts were Alsmeier with 26 points and Ishikawa, the match MVP with 21 points, securing a dramatic home win.

Vallefoglia faced their second consecutive home loss, this time to Reale Mutua Fenera Chieri ’76, despite Camilla Mingardi’s outstanding 30 points. MVP Ofelia Malinov shone, but Vallefoglia’s 25 errors ultimately led to their downfall.

Igor Gorgonzola Novara maintained their top spot with a clean 3-0 sweep against Itas Trentino. Szakmary stepped up in Buijs’ absence, earning the MVP title with a 13-point contribution.

Volley Bergamo 1991 showed fight but lost in four sets to Allianz Vero Volley Milano. Despite Bergamo’s effort, led by Davyskiba’s 18 points, Milano’s teamwork prevailed, with captain Orro directing the play to victory.

The high-stakes match between Savino Del Bene Scandicci and Prosecco Doc Imoco Conegliano ended in favor of Conegliano. MVP Monica De Gennaro delivered a libero masterclass, tipping the scales with perfect receptions and stunning defenses.

As the league progresses, Novara leads with Conegliano and Milano close behind. Scandicci trails, with Pinerolo and Firenze not far off, while Busto and Trento are left seeking points. The competition heats up as teams vie for dominance in Serie A1.
