Cucine Lube Civitanova announced that team captain and libero Fabio Balaso underwent successful surgery today at the Policlinico University Hospital in Modena. The operation was required to treat a spiral fracture to the fourth metacarpal of his right hand.

The procedure, which lasted approximately 60 minutes, was conducted by Professor Luigi Tarallo and his medical team, with the club’s chief medical staff, Mariano Avio, also in attendance. According to official reports, the surgery went smoothly and achieved the intended outcome.
Balaso, a important figure for Cucine Lube Civitanova, is expected to be sidelined for at least 30 days. Despite the recovery period, he will be able to begin light hand mobility exercises between medical checkups to accelerate rehabilitation.
Emerging from the operating room with a smile, Balaso showed the same resilience and determination he’s known for on the court.
