Itas Trentino brought the fire and the focus in front of a sold-out crowd at ilT Quotidiano Arena, sweeping Cucine Lube Civitanova 3-0 (25-22, 25-18, 25-18) in Game 3 of the SuperLega Scudetto Finals. With this emphatic home win, Trento moves ahead 2-1 in the best-of-five series, setting up a potentially decisive Game 4 on Wednesday, May 7, in Civitanova.
From the opening whistle, Trento took control, riding the energy of 4,000 roaring fans. Kamil Rychlicki was unstoppable, delivering a match-high 16 points with a devastating 74% efficiency in attack, earning him the MVP honors. Alessandro Michieletto and Daniele Lavia added 12 points each, showing once again why Trento’s offense is one of the most balanced in the league.
Civitanova, despite a strong showing in Game 2, couldn’t keep up. Their top scorer Lagumdzija managed 11 points, but the team struggled to maintain rhythm, particularly in reception and transition.
Coach Fabio Soli praised his squad’s composure and determination, noting that despite some imperfections, their mental strength made the difference. On the other side, Giampaolo Medei acknowledged Trento’s superior performance and called on his team to regroup quickly to force a Game 5.
Trento’s victory marks their 19th consecutive home win, and if they bring the same intensity on Wednesday, they could seal the championship away from home. However, Civitanova has its back against the wall—and everything to fight for.
Don’t miss Game 4 – Wednesday, May 7 at 20:30 CET, live on Rai Sport, DAZN, and VBTV. Will Trento take the title, or will Civitanova force a dramatic fifth match?
