The Courmayeur Sport Center witnessed a breathtaking conclusion to the second edition of the Courmayeur Cup, as Igor Gorgonzola Novara battled back to defeat Savino Del Bene Scandicci in a dramatic tie-break, sealing a 3-2 victory in front of 3,000 fans.

In a match filled with tension and twists, Novara showcased resilience, overturning a two-set deficit before clinching the decider 15-13. The win gave coach Bernardi’s squad the trophy and a huge confidence boost just a week ahead of the Serie A Tigotà opener.
Carlotta Cambi, recently crowned world champion, was named MVP of the tournament. On the scoring front, Ekaterina Antropova led all players with 26 points, supported by Avery Skinner’s 17 for Scandicci. For Novara, Mayu Ishikawa shone with 15 points, followed by Taylor Mims (15), Lina Alsmeier (11), and Amber Igiede (11).
Earlier in the tournament, Imoco Conegliano defeated Vero Volley Milano in four sets, powered by Isabelle Haak’s 21 points, while Gabi (16) and Zhu (13) added balance. For Milano, Paola Egonu (14) and Khalia Lanier (11) were standouts despite the loss.
With over 5,000 spectators across two days, the Courmayeur Cup delivered an electrifying preview of what promises to be a spectacular volleyball season ahead.
