“I have great expectations in Italy. After playing four years in USA, I’m happy that my dream of plying in Italy came true. Every player wants to come here. Also I hope we can make big success with Padova.”
Santiago Orduna is the other Argentine at Padova and will certainly give a special flavour to this team.
Quiroga was named a first-team AVCA All-America selection for the second straight season following his senior year. He finished as the school’s all-time leader in aces (194) after posting nine matches in 2014 with at least three and matching his personal high of six in one match during a win over BYU. Quiroga ranked fourth in the nation in service aces per set (0.50) and was ninth in the NCAA in points scored per set (4.50). The native of Argentina ranks sixth in career kills (1,387) and ninth in career digs (630) at the school. His total of 56 aces in his senior season equaled the school single-season mark (rally scoring era).
