The action in Mexico City begins tomorrow when Mexico will play against Tunisia and Turkey will face Cuba.
“Staff of the Mexican Federation, collaborators and volunteers has been preparing 24-7 to get everything ready for this competition,” said Jesus Perales Navarro, president of the Mexican Federation.
“The event has generated great expectations and we are fully aware of the challenge that lies ahead as we make our debut in the World League and as a host city.”
As well as the World League Mexico will also feature in this year’s FIVB Volleyball Men’s World Championship in Poland, so they are keen to hone their skills over the coming weeks.
It also means that the coaches and players have been in high demand with local media outlets. Tunisia, Turkey and Cuba all arrived earlier in the week, so by the start of competition the excitement is likely to be at fever pitch.
“We are pleased to welcome our fellow competitors, hoping them the best,” Perales added.
