MEX M: Carlos Schwanke Takes Charge of Mexico’s Men’s National Team

Carlos Schwanke, the head coach of the Brazilian SuperLiga team Farma Conde/Vôlei São José dos Campos and a former assistant coach of the Brazilian men’s national team, has been appointed to lead the Mexican Men’s National Team for the next Olympic cycle (2024-2028).

Farma Conde/Vôlei São José dos Campos officially confirmed this development. They announced that Schwanke accepted the new role on Monday, the 22nd, and emphasized that he will continue to honor his contract with the Brazilian club until its conclusion in June 2024.

Schwanke’s coaching career is marked by diverse international experiences. From February 2016 to 2022, he served as the coach for Qatar’s Al Rayyan SC and Qatar SC. His career also spans stints in Brazil, Bahrain, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, and Switzerland. Schwanke was a part of the coaching staff for the Brazil national team from 2019 through 2023, bringing a wealth of experience to his new role with Mexico’s team as they prepare for the upcoming challenges.
