Before the start of the FIVB World Championship 2014 in Italy for Women, Italy and Turkey have played one friendly match which the host won 3-0 (25-22, 25-20, 25-19).

After the regular game, the teams played another set, which belonged to Turkey 16-14.
Italy will host the Women’s World Championship and the first match they will play against Tunisia on September 23.
