Agüero had an amazing career, first in Cuba, then in Italy, where she wore the jersey of Italian national team, having taken their citizenship in 2006. She has a stunning list of medals: gold at the Olympic Games (Atlanta ’96 and Sydney 2000), World Championships (1994, 1998), European Championships (2007, 2009), World Grand Prix (2000) and also Italian Championship (2 times), Italian Cup (5 times), as well as other major trophies.

In February this year, after a period of absence, Taismary Agüero went back into the game with VB Casalmaggiore. However, this summer, Italo-Cuban player left the training camp for family reasons. She wanted to devote herself mainly to the family.

„I’m starting this new experience with a lot of enthusiasm – said Agüero on her arrival in Forlì „and I’m convinced that we will have all we need to make a good team. This will happen if we are all committed to the maximum. I will try to give all my experience and put it at the service of teammates and squad. I really want to go down on the field and smash on the ground as many balls as I possibly can.“
