While most of the teams will travel to Rio with only one libero player, Italy head coach Gianlorenzo Blengini decided to put 2 in the final roster! Massimo Colaci will officially be registered as libero, while Salvatore Rossini will be registered under “receiver”.
The two players that got cut from the final roster are Gabriele Mariutti and Enrico Cester.
This is the men’s team of Italy that will play at the Olympic Games 2016.
Setters: Simone Giannelli, Pasquale Sottile.
Opposites: Ivan Zaytsev, Luca Vettori.
Middle Blockers: Matteo Piano, Simone Buti, Emanuele Birarelli.
Receivers: Osmany Juantorena, Filippo Lanza, Oleg Antonov, Salvatore Rossini.
Libero: Massimo Colaci.
