Italy could mathematically claim a ticket to the quarterfinals if Brazil beat USA in the last match of the day at the Maracanazinho.

Filippo Lanza was Italy’s top scorer on 14 points, with Ivan Zaytsev contibuting another 11. Although he only played a set and a half, Nestor E Orellana was the best scorer of Mexico with 7 points.
